I am surprised your motor doesnt have a 'trolling' setting. You should be able to lift the motor so the skeg is in the water but the shaft is on an angle giving you the ability to go shallower and more importantly, not draw in sand and debris from the bottom while in shallow water. Should have a trim pin with three different options for angle selection.

You guys are in the US now but for reference, that little patch of reef to the north provides absolutely no protection for high winds from the north. It was a long rough night with a dozen other boats spending the night playing bumper boats.

Maybe use a permanent sharpie and make them as diesel… some places in the us will have fits about this… Incidentally using a jiggle siphon and the Jerry jugs is a great way to keep bad fuel out of the tanks and water

I think that trip into the mangroves would have been idea for Curiosity's OC tender with the electric jet drive. It can get up to plane with two people, can still function in very little water, has no propeller to hit anything and can be charged off their solar. OTOH, they have about 3 kWp on their new boat...

Please clean the display screens before showing them. The encrusted salt deposits ruin what ever you are trying to show.
